SCOTTY MCCREERY WINS AMERICAN IDOL

I’m so happy Scotty won! Loved that he thanked God in the first video. Loved what Lauren said in an interview in the second video.

They’re both winners in my eyes.

Go County, and go believes in Christ!

SCOTTY MCCREERY, WHAT AN INSPIRATION

Sadly there are many adults Christians who don’t openly talk about their faith, so for Scotty McCreery to do so as an American Idol contestant is amazing in my eyes. Some may feel speaking about their beliefs may result in lost votes. Scotty seems to have a balance between letting others know what he stands for without coming off as “preachy” or a “Jesus freak”. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a Jesus freak, mind you.

In an AMERICAN IDOL article in US WEEKLY this month, the top three contestants list:25 Things You Don’t Know About Me. Number 11 on Scotty’s list: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” Philippians 4:13.

Please take the time to watch the entire clip of Scotty’s homecoming concert. It speaks volumes to the man he is. He’s always had my votes. The more I learn about him, the more determined I am to do my part to see he wins. What a great thing for America if he does. To think how his life may influence others, especially teens, can only be a God thing.

GIVE THE LADY A RIDE

Give the Lady a Ride by Linda Yezak certainly took me on a ride. Having only recently gone to my first ever bull riding event, the cover intrigued me. One of the signs of a great book is its ability to draw you in right from the start. With Give the Lady a Ride, the opening line accomplished this, and continued to hold me captive from the very first word to the very last.

When Patricia Talbert discovers she's inherited a ranch, she and her best friend Marie hightail it to Texas to put the property on the market. Talon Carlson, the foreman of Circle Bar Ranch, is every bit a Texas cowboy as Patricia is a high-class social coordinator from New Yorker.

When Patricia unexpectedly shows up, Talon fights his attraction for her like a bull fights to throw his rider. Patricia is determined to sell the ranch, but Talon and his crew have something else in mind. With a growing attraction to Talon, Patricia is filled with indecision and offers him a challenge he can't refuse--teach her how to ride a bull.

If I were to highlight all the good phrases in this story with my marker, the book would be considerably marked up. If I were to then add highlights to the parts that were well written, interesting, fun, and well-paced, there would be no words left unmarked.

I was swept into this story with its vivid characters, so much so that they played out in my mind like those in a great movie. What a treat to not get just one great romance in a story but a touch of another with Chance, Talon's best friend and "brother" and Marie. I've always loved the opposites attract scenario and Yezak did an amazing job. She and Give the Lady a Ride are now on my favorites list.

AMERICAN IDOL SHOCKER

Scotty is my favorite American Idol. I love country, his deep voice and his old county boy ways. Though I love all these things about Scotty, James is amazing on every level and I felt he deserved to win.

To say I was shocked James and Scotty were the bottom two is an understatement. As much as I didn’t want Scotty to leave, James was the winner in my eye, has been for weeks.

I was shocked beyond belief that James was voted off. Still am.

What was American thinking? The only answer that makes sense is exactly why I stopped voting for James the last couple of weeks…because he was so good he was sure to win hands down.

As much as I love Scotty, I felt he should come in second. Aware there are not as many country lovers out there, I voted like crazy for him, letting the rest of America vote for James. I have to wonder if everyone had the same idea. Vote for their second choice so they's come in second because James is going to win it.

As shocking and sad as it is, I would be even more shocked if James doesn’t end up a superstar. If he put out a CD tomorrow, I’d buy it!

If Scotty goes home next, I don’t know what I’ll do.

James, DON'T STOP BELIEVING. We Love you!

STUCK LIKE...A NEW SONG

I have to admit the first time I heard this song was when SUGARLAND performed it on American Idol, and I thought it was kind of stupid. I later heard it on the radio and suddenly found it very catchy.

Now I can’t get it out of my head….and I LOVE it!

Funny how things work out sometimes.

STUCK LIKE GLUE

Mmmm better...mmm better...
Absolutely no one that knows me better
No one that can make me feel sooo goooood
How did we stay so long together?
When everybody, everybody said we never would
And just when I, I start to think they're right
That love has died...

[Chorus]
There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again,
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time?
There you go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo

I'm stuck on you
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue

Some days I don't feel like trying
Some days you know I wanna just give up
When it doesn't matter who's right, fight about it all night
Had enough
You give me that look
"I'm sorry baby let's make up"
You do that thing that makes me laugh
And just like that...

[Chorus]
There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again,
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time
There you go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo

I'm stuck on you
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby were stuck like glue

Whutooo Whutoo

You almost stay out, too stuck together from the ATL
Whutooo Whutoo

Feeling kinda sick?
Just a spoon full of sugar make it better real quick

I say
Whutooo Whutoo
Whatcha gonna do with that?
Whutooo Whutoo
Come on over here with that
Sugar sticky sweet stuff
Come on give me that stuff
Everybody wants some
Melodies that get stuck

Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo

Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo

Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo

Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo
Whuthoo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me together, say, it's all I wanna do
I said

[Chorus]
There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again,
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time
There you go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo

There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again,
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time
There you go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo
I'm stuck on you

Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby were stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue
